Day 14: God is soooo GREAT!

The Afters - You

Today I went out and got turned down by everyone I talked to on the Oval. Next I got turned down by a guy on the South Oval. After that I got turned by another guy sitting at the top of Mirror Lake.

At this point I'm thinking that I will have to go out after the Sunday night church service I was visiting which could make for a loooong night. I'm around the spot of where I took the picture above when I see Ethan heading up to church and I crossed the street to meet up with him. We talked for like two seconds when I see a guy walking on the other side of the street and I jet off for one last chance before church!

We get to talking and he's down with the survey so we go at it. He's got different answers than I usually get and he's really sort of cheerful about all of them so I'm having one of those headscratcher moments because it doesn't seem like he fits into any personality type that I have already met.

I find out he loves Jesus but thinks that all roads lead to God. The conversation went on for a little while longer and we're at the edge of campus when I ask him if he wants to meet up some place later and talk because there were just too many things he had going on to cover right then and there.

He tells me that he's moving back to Portland in 4 days but would love to meet up.
I pray that we can get down to something solid and that this conversation-to-be would do some eternal good.

Lesson learned

Don't ever doubt that God will provide you with a most awesome divine appointment and don't be too scared to interrupt a phone call or a chat with a person to follow the Holy Spirits guiding.
