Day 28: Some days are just crazy
I won't be able to tell all and everything about what happened today because it would take you forever to get through it so I'm letting you know now; this is the short version.
I will write two shorts stories about the people I talked to today and than I will go and rest for a day full of exam studying fun :-)
The first person I talked to was a girl who was working at Joanns.
I was with my married friends Adam and Ellynn and they were getting a bunch of fabric samples cut out so they could see what would work in their apartment.
While the girl was cutting these one inch samples I asked her what the first thing was that came to her mind when she heard the name Jesus.
She wasn't exactly jazzed.
Right when I thought the conversation was over it took off!
She asked me some questions and told me she was Catholic and I answered and let her know that Adam and I both went to Catholic schools when we were younger and knew where she was coming from. After a little while she mentioned that some guy had come in and asked her if she knew wether or not she was going to Heaven . . . wild eh :-)
We had some solid back and forth going on and I got to give her the Gospel in the clearest way I can remember giving it.
ALL GOD!
She threw some hardball questions about gay people and those who have done awful things like rape. I responded with honest answers that were totally backed by the Bible and a story about the guy who wrote "Amazing Grace."
The talk went on for a little while and her co-workers I could tell were listening :-)
Finally, she told me that she's had unpleasent encounters with Christians and I told her that if someone says they are a Christian she should think to herself, "Is this person like Jesus?"
"Then you make the call."
I realize Christians aren't perfect by the way but we are called to perfection in Jesus Christ so yea, let's raise the bar right?
The second talk which happened not too long ago was with this girl on High Street who was just . . . alone. She said that she was waiting for her ride and I just went right into it. What's the first thing you think about when you hear the name of Jesus?
She didn't really have an answer and so we talked some and I shared the Gospel with her. Afterwards she told me that her grandfather was a Priest which now sort of confuses me because as I'm writing this I don't see how that's even possible.
Either way, I shared my testimony with her and let her know that if she called on God He would show up and she let me pray for her :-)
PRAISE JESUS!!!
Lesson learned
I know the Gospel may offend some people and folk won't always be excited for one reason or another still; I don't want to be the guy who out of pride or insecurity tramples on some one and keeps them from a relationship with Jesus.
Never let your day keep you from sharing the Gospel. Other things may come in droves to distract you but we have to just keep going at it.
Keep praying for people you talk to and have faith that God can and will work in their lives.
God is good and the joy of the Lord is our strentgh.
God bless kids :-)
