Day III: The other side of High
Who is there in the heavens like You?
And upon the earth, who's Your equal?
Far above, You're the highest of heights
We are bowing down to exalt You
Face down - Matt Redman
There are a few different sides to High St. which goes through downtown Columbus and borders Ohio State. Today we are going to visit a spot of it that I don't exactly like to go to all the time but have had to visit more and more as of late.
It's still pretty early in the morning and this is were I figure day three should begin.
As I made my way to a most neglected spot on High St. I wondered why I had only now found the courage to witness in this area. After some time I concluded that it was because I had always been so consumed by my own discomfort and problems. I just flat-out hadn't cared enough about the lives of the people that I was around to share Jesus with them.
I got the chance to talk to a guy named Ryan today and he was a brickwall when it came to God or Jesus. His parents never taught him about God and he consistently made it clear to me that it was not for him. I spoke more about Jesus but after a bit he just shut his ears.
Then I prayed.
The next person I talked to was this very nice lady who was doing some sort of crossword puzzle. We spoke a little bit about Jesus and she believed that nothing could be done without Him. Pleased with that response I talked to her some more about Him and she continued to do her crossword puzzle.
After these two conservations I was feeling more at ease and feeling a little more open to throw Jesus out there so I did just that. I got the attention of this one guy who told me he was a student at OSU and just flat out asked him, "Do you know Jesus?"
The guy was surprised but quietly answered yes. He told me that he didn't go to church every Sunday or anything but that he does pray every night. He wasn't sure if he was going to Heaven so we talked some about what Jesus was all about and how we can know we are going to heaven. A second later he let me pray for him. It wasn't a salvation or rededication prayer but it was something and I prayed that God would show him who He was and how this guy can grow in Him. After another chat and an invite to Chi Alpha I was on my way.
Jesus kept on coming up while I ran into the next person and the next person .
He is more Awesome than I know.
Jesus bless and rock it out kids :-)
