This will be short and sweet. For the next 365 days I will be trying to live out the great commission in a fashion that I have never been able to maintain. What fashion is this you ask? The Answer: A consistent basis

Day Two: PRAISE THE LORD!!!

The Setting is Columbus State today :-)

As I was leaving class I planned to go around and do a survey when for some reason I started following a classmate of mine. This guy had been hanging around looking like he was waiting to talk to our prof but left as soon as I did. Strange wouldn't you say. I even remember giving him a chance to go before me but he waved me on and that was that.

Looking back this is all more odd than I thought.

I followed him onto an elevator which I never take and start chatting having no clue where this is all going. I ask him about class and than it comes up. He's Muslim. I tell him I'm a Christian and we keep on talking.

Over the next 15-20 minutes we talk about Islam and Christianity doing a very nice back and forth.

He has questions about the family line of Paul and the other apostles and I question a few bits here and there about early Islam and about Muhammad. He trys to tell me that people aren't stupid and let's me in on the fact that Islam is the fastest growing religion on earth right now. I followed up with some Word and let him know that even if it is that fact really dosen't matter.

After a couple of more minutes I mention a cool non-Christian Roman historian Tacitus and his writings :-D A second later I bring up a story about a couple of Muslim missionaries who were converted after one of them saw Jesus right in front of him while praying in Belgium. He asks me if I want to know more about Islam and I tell him that I would enjoy talking some more with him. With that the talk was over.

My bud told me we would talk some more and I really hope we do.

Lesson of the day

Talk to people in your classes. I have been seeing this guy pretty much all summer and haven't said a word. One elevator ride later and some light is creeping into his world.

Jeff told me a good way to go about future conversations that I felt was sweet enough to share.

"You just build up your alter and let him build up his."

I know God will show up I just pray that my new friend is willing to accept it.
